Citizens of the Commonwealth, of which Papua New Guinea is a member state, remain eligible to join the United Kingdom Armed Forces.  Interested Papua New Guinean nationals should contact the British Ministry of Defence direct for further recruitment information. 

Please be aware that candidates wishing to pursue a career in the UK armed forces will be required to travel to the UK at their own expense to be interviewed and assessed as to their suitability for potential recruitment.

1. Write, fax or email to request an application form
2. When writing you must include the following details:

    a) Full name on birth certificate/passport
    b) Date of birth
    c) Nationality
    d) Full postal address

3. When the application form is sent to you, the following documents must be submitted with the completed application form:

    a) Certified copy of your birth certificate
    b) Copy of your passport - photo/data page
    c) Copy of all educational qualifications
    d) Copy of 2 recent references
    e) Copy of services of liability letter with the Ministry of Home Affairs letter-head
    f) Photography of any tattoos
   g) Police record check – must be sent with one application form

Note: the British Army will only accept the original application form and a photocopy of supporting documents (ie 3(a) to (e).
