How do I apply

How to apply for a UK visa

The visa section is open at 08:00 to 16:00 from Monday to Thursday and 08:00 to 12:00 on Friday.  Applicants must apply in person to register their biometric data which involves finger print scanning and digital photographs. Children under the age of five (5) and holders of certain passports are exempt from providing their biometric data.

Applications for standard visit visas are normally straightforward.  When applying, you should submit:

  • your completed and signed application form
  • a recent passport size photograph of yourself
  • all relevant supporting documentation
  • the correct fee

Long term applications may take a few days to process and may require you to attend an interview.  Therefore, it is advisable not to purchase your flight tickets prior to applying as we will not issue a visa on these grounds.  As well as submitting your application with all relevant supporting documentation three (3) – four (4) weeks before your intended travel date, please remember that all applicants will now need to travel to Port Moresby to have their biometric details taken

Important changes to Immigration Rules

Anyone wishing to work or study in the UK must now qualify under a new points based system.  Please click here to read about all the changes and how this affects your application.
