The British Gruaduates Society aims to give former scholars of British Institutions access to a network of professionals in Papua New Guinea with a shared common overseas experience which will not only encourage sharing of experiences, but become a powerful group of promoting links between PNG and the UK. The Society also aims to maintain ties with its member's former institutions, provide high quality representation, encourage new and continuing students to study in the UK and act as a link between PNG and the United Kingdom.

Former UK graduates who are interested in joining the Society should contact ukgraduates.png@gmail.com.

At the official launch of the Society on the 13th October, 2007 by Mr David Dunn the  British High Commissioner said, "As the Asia Pacific region develops through globalisation, overlapping local, regional and international networks become ever more important. The British High Commission is proud to be associated with the BGSPNG and I hope that the Society will quickly deliver value for its members and those it interacts with. I encourage all former UK scholars to join and get involved in this exciting initiative."
